The course, the result of many years' research, is geared to develop with the mental and physical growth of the child. These are fun creative classes in a happy friendly environment

MIDDLE SCHOOL LEVEL 4 TO DEGREE 2
"This system of training is recommended by the Classical Dance Education Centre Pty Ltd and is based on the Vaganova System of training as taught in the famous Vaganova Academic Choreographic School in Leningrad. The teaching programme for LMDS leads directly to the syllabus newly adopted by the Australian Ballet School which is also based on the Vaganova System" - Laurel Martyn OBE.
This includes:
Classical Work:
This retains its major importance and has been designed to provide a gradual technical progression. Students will be able to progress at their own rate. More emphasis will be placed on the development of dance quality, style and personal expression to enhance this technique.
Creative/Free Movement:
This gives the children the opportunity to develop their natural sense of movement and personal creativity. This will incorporate more improvisation and personal input from the students while developing better musical awareness and understanding.
Folk Dance: This is important for the development of strength, rhythm and style will continue to be developed and will involve group and partner work

SENIOR SCHOOL
DEGREE 3 to 6 & EXCELLENCE

These classes will continue to develop from the previous years' studies with a more choreographic emphasis. They will also include repertoire based study and composition. These developments will challenge and inspire students

ADULT BALLET, JAZZ & TAP CLASSES
Did you learn ballet or contemporary when you were young or have you always wanted to but never had the chance? Here's your opportunity! Treat yourself to your special hour. Come and try these fun classes and get fit in the process. All Beginners are welcome. Just turn up and try your first class. Classes are during school terms.

BALLET EXAMINATIONS
All students are encouraged to take the classical ballet examinations of the LMDS although they are not compulsory. These offer positive goals for the students to work towards and offer a challenge, with a great sense of achievement on completion. These are approached at each student's individual pace, with both Assessment A and Final Certificate C offered. Examinations also give parents a guide about their child's progress and an indication of the expertise, professionalism and standards upheld in the school. They are held at the ballet studio, in a friendly and familiar environment, during the third term and are conducted by their class teacher. The school has had an ongoing 100% pass rate in examinations, from Primary to Advanced, Degree 6 level. These are great results. We congratulate all our students for their hard work, regular attendance and improvement throughout each year and look forward to ongoing exciting and rewarding years. Each year in Term 3 we hold our fun Choreographic Competition and 'The Young Dancers Company' will also be auditioning at the end of term one, so we look forward to many more exciting years
